TL;DR — Only DJs can export to Spotify, and the export only runs on the web (not the mobile app). Open your event on web → tap the Spotify icon on the right side. The playlist lands in your Spotify library.
Who can export to Spotify?
Only the DJ assigned to the event can export the playlist to Spotify. Hosts and guests don't have access to it.
If you're a host or guest (the DJ invited you to the event), reach out to your DJ — they'll export the playlist and can share the Spotify link with you.
If you're the DJ follow the steps below.
Before you export
A few things need to be in place:
You're using Vibo on the web — export isn't available in the mobile app.
You have a DJ role on the event.
The event is active or upcoming (not in the past).
Your Spotify account is connected in Settings.
How to export to Spotify
The export options live on the right side of your event — you'll see icons for Spotify, Apple Music, and Beatport stacked together.
1. Open the event in Vibo on the web.
2. On the right side of the event, tap the Spotify icon.
3. Select the sections you want to export.
4. Choose All songs to export everything in those sections, or Only flagged songs to export just the songs you've flagged in Prep Mode.
5. Confirm the export.
Vibo creates a new playlist in your connected Spotify account. It appears in Your Library in Spotify — the playlist lives there, not inside Vibo.
💡 About flagged songs:
Flagging is part of Prep Mode — DJs flag songs they don't own yet so they can prep, buy, or stream them. Choosing Only flagged songs at export creates a Spotify playlist of just those songs, which is handy for sourcing music you're missing. Learn more about identifying songs in your collection →
Exporting to Apple Music or Beatport
The same icon panel on the right side of your event includes Apple Music and Beatport. The flow is the same — tap the icon, pick your sections, choose what to export.
For Beatport-specific issues, see Beatport export errors.
Troubleshooting
The Export icons aren't showing
Work through these checks in order:
Confirm you're on the web. Export icons don't appear in the mobile app. Open Vibo at web.vibodj.com.
Confirm you have a DJ role on this event. Hosts and guests don't see the export icons. If you're a host or guest, ask your DJ to export for you.
Confirm the event is active or upcoming. Export icons don't appear for past events — see the next section if your event has already passed.
Confirm Spotify is connected in Settings. If it isn't, connect it and try again.
If the icons are still missing after all four checks, reach out via chat and we'll take a look.
The event has already passed
Export icons aren't available for past events. Two ways around it:
Option A — Restore, export, archive again
(recommended — keeps the original event date)
Go to History and restore the past event.
Open it and run the export from the right-side icons.
Delete the event again. Your data is safe — deleted events stay in History and can be restored anytime.
Option B — Change the event date temporarily
Edit the event and set the date to today (or any upcoming date).
Run the export from the right-side icons.
⚠️ Heads up:
Changing the event date overwrites the original date everywhere. If you've shared the event with hosts, used it in invoices, or pushed it to Zapier, the new date will show in all those places. Option A is usually the cleaner choice.
Spotify export is stuck or not working
The fix in most cases is to refresh the Spotify connection — your access token may have expired silently. If that doesn't sort it, work through the rest of the checks below.
1. Disconnect and reconnect Spotify (resolves most cases)
Open Settings in Vibo.
Disconnect Spotify, then reconnect by signing in again.
Try the export again.
2. Confirm you're on the right Spotify account
If you have multiple Spotify accounts (personal, family, work), Vibo exports to whichever is currently connected. Double-check in Settings that the right one is linked.
3. Some songs may not be available on Spotify
If a track was removed from Spotify, isn't available in your region, or only exists outside Spotify (Apple Music, local files, custom uploads), Vibo can't add it to a Spotify playlist. The export usually still completes — those specific songs just won't be in the result.
4. Try a different browser
Some browser extensions or strict pop-up blockers can interfere with the Spotify authorization handshake. If you've tried everything else, opening Vibo in a different browser (or in an incognito window) sometimes clears it.
If you've worked through all of these and the export still fails, reach out via chat — share what you've tried so far and we'll dig into it with you.
Frequently asked
Can I export to Spotify if I'm not the DJ?
No. Only DJs can export. If you're a host or guest, ask your DJ to export the playlist and share the Spotify link with you.
Can I export from the mobile app?
Not yet — export only works on the web at web.vibodj.com. The mobile app is for planning, song requests, and Prep Mode.
Where does the exported playlist live?
In your connected Spotify account, under Your Library. The playlist doesn't stay inside Vibo once exported — Spotify is the home for it.
What's the difference between "All songs" and "Only flagged songs"?
"All songs" exports everything in the sections you selected. "Only flagged songs" exports just the songs marked as flagged in Prep Mode — usually songs you don't own yet and want to source on Spotify.
What if a song is missing from the exported playlist?
Only the songs in the sections you selected get exported. If a song is missing, double-check it's in one of the selected sections and (if you used "Only flagged songs") that it's flagged. If a song is in your event but isn't on Spotify at all, it can't be exported.
Can I export to Tidal or another platform that's not in the icons?
Vibo exports directly to Spotify, Apple Music, and Beatport. For other platforms, export to Spotify first, then use a third-party tool like TuneMyMusic or Soundiiz to convert the playlist over.
Do I need Spotify Premium?
No. Spotify Free works fine for exporting from Vibo.
