Spotify Playlist Not Showing Up in Vibo

Troubleshooting tips for adding Spotify playlists to your Vibo event or template.

Updated this week

Sometimes your Spotify playlists won't appear when you tap Add Songs → Spotify inside an event section.

The Quick Fix: Disconnect and Reconnect Spotify

If your playlists aren't showing up — including playlists you created yourself — follow these steps in order:

  1. Open the Vibo mobile app on your phone (iOS or Android).

  2. Go to Settings and find the Spotify connection.

  3. Disconnect Spotify by tapping the disconnect or unlink option.

  4. Reconnect Spotify by signing back into your Spotify account through Vibo.

  5. Open the event section where you want to add songs (for example, Dinner, Cocktail Hour, or Open Dancing).

  6. Tap Add Songs.

  7. Tap Spotify.

  8. Your playlists should now appear in the list. Search or scroll to find the one you need.

This disconnect-and-reconnect step refreshes the link between Vibo and your Spotify account and resolves most playlist visibility issues.

Why Does This Happen?

Vibo connects to Spotify using an access token. Over time — especially if you haven't used the Spotify feature in a while, changed your Spotify password, or logged into Spotify on a different device — that token can expire silently. Vibo may still show Spotify as "connected," but the link is no longer working properly behind the scenes.

Disconnecting and reconnecting generates a fresh token, which restores full access to your playlists.

Other Things to Check

If disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't solve the problem, try these additional steps:

Make sure you're logged into the correct Spotify account

Vibo pulls playlists from whichever Spotify account is connected. If you have multiple Spotify accounts (personal and family, for example), confirm you connected the one that has the playlists you're looking for.

Make sure the playlist is saved to your Spotify library

If someone else shared a playlist with you, you need to save it to your library first. Open the playlist in Spotify and tap the + (plus) button to add it to Your Library. Then go back to Vibo and try again.

Check for greyed-out tracks

If a playlist contains tracks that are unavailable in your region (they appear greyed out in Spotify), this can sometimes cause import issues.

  1. Remove Greyed-Out Tracks:

    • Open the playlist on Spotify.

    • Look for tracks that are greyed out (as shown in the image above).

    • Right-click the track (or tap the three dots on mobile) and choose "Remove from Playlist."

  2. Reattempt Adding the Playlist:

    • Go back to Vibo and try adding the playlist again.

Try from a different device

If the playlist still doesn't appear on one device, try the other platform. If you were using the web app, try the mobile app (or vice versa). Some connection issues are device-specific.

FAQ

Do I need a Spotify Premium account to use Spotify in Vibo?

No. Vibo works with both Spotify Free and Spotify Premium accounts. You can search for songs and import playlists regardless of your Spotify plan.

Will disconnecting Spotify delete the songs I already added to my event?

No. Songs that are already in your event sections stay there. Disconnecting only affects the live connection used to search and import new playlists.

I created the playlist myself — why do I need to "save" it?

You don't. Playlists you created are already in your library. If they're not appearing, the issue is almost always a stale connection — use the disconnect/reconnect steps above.

My playlist has a special character in the name (like &). Could that be the problem?

Special characters in playlist names can sometimes affect Spotify's search results within Vibo. However, the primary fix is still disconnecting and reconnecting Spotify. If the issue persists after reconnecting, try renaming the playlist to something simple and unique, then search again in Vibo.

Can I paste a Spotify playlist link directly into Vibo instead of searching?

Currently, Vibo does not support pasting Spotify playlist links directly. You need to use the Add Songs → Spotify flow to browse and import from your connected library.
